It all happened on a quiet Sunday night.
Naturally, I was bored and wanted to do something with my camera but didn't know what exactly... So I bundled up and grabbed my gear (Nikon D700 + Nikkor 105mm f2.8 VR) and headed out in my neighborhood looking for that something interesting. After a 10 minute walk, i found it.
A small, municipal hockey rink lit only by a single spotlight from only corner of the rink.
Away from the glare and the glut of incessant attention focused on international competitions, trophies and medals stood 2 pairs of players.
These players were divided in 2 teams - 2 men in their late thirties and 2 boys (friends) in their very early teens.
Who they were, what gender, what age or what their equipment was - absolutely not important to me for this was a study of the game and giving the whole story a sense of motion.
I focused instead on their hands, feet, skating, stick handling - even their shadows and (obviously) the puck.
Let the photos of these players tell their story of Our Game : Hockey.
