http://timestop.zenfolio.comOn the evening of Saturday the 23rd of January 2010, a fire was declared in the western wing of an apartment complex situated on Pioneer Drive (between Homer Watson blvd and Green Valley Drive) in Kitchener.
The event announced itself loudly through a multitude of blaring sirens resonating through the entire neighbourhood and within less than a handful of minutes, the Pioneer firehouse (down less half a kilometer away) sprung into action.
The response from the Kitchener Fire Department was swift - numerous firetrucks arrived moments later. The Waterloo Regional Police Service sectionned off access to that portion of Pioneer blvd. Mobile support units like ambulances, cantines and even a Grand River Transit bus (who happened to be passing by at the very moment of the arrival of the initial response) stood by to accept and provide comfort to the displaced victims on this January night.
