Like the fact I hate loud noises in the evening all year around - Can't stand it in fact. But go figure that I like watching fireworks and if the resulting temporary partial deafness is the price to pay then i'm fine.
So this year, instead of taking photos of fireworks with a long lens, I got a wide angle lens and got close.
Actually, maybe a bit too close since one spent still smoking and whizzing firework shell fell a mere 3 feet from me and my photographic apparatus during that night. Even the crowd looked at me with a general look saying "You're a lucky bastard - you came close to going to losing something important".
I barely paused for a seconds to notice the smouldering shell and it's small impact crater and continued to shoot these photos.
Meh. What's a little risk sometimes ?
