Cars From Hell

Photos and texts by Pascal Sauvé (Kitchener, Ontario)

The Setup: Nikon D700, with the 70-200mm VRII series lens
Exposure zeroed out or at +0.3 EV in some cases due to the smoke and strong noon hazy sunlight
Exposure speed for launches and smokeshows set at 1/8000 of a second and you'll see in the upcoming set of photos why 1/8000 is so important to freeze action on dragsters.

Here's Matt Glassford of Fernandes-Glassford preparing his tires to adhere better to the racing track by starting a long smokeshow for his first start.
NIKON CORPORATION NIKON D700, ISO 1400, No Flash
