Doughnut Canopy

Pointe Pelee National Park has many distinct things going for it - it's own warm Lake Erie based Humid Continental micro-climate, a Carolinian Zone forest (unusual for such a northern latitude).

Weirder yet was this group of branches and foliage in the canopy of these trees that seem to tangle up in a circle !

Oh yeah. I had eaten nothing since the evening before - no breakfast - didn't want to walk too full with the high humidity.

Still...I would have liked a nice little doughnut...
